Reporting to the Baking Supervisor, the Sanitation Associate is responsible for properly washing and sanitizing dishes and equipment in an industrial production environment. The Sanitation Associate completes these tasks both by manually washing items, and by operating industrial dishwashing machines. We are looking for someone who cares about the quality of their work and the cleanliness of their environment, and is able to work through a high volume of dishes and equipment on a daily basis. 

This is a first shift position, starting at 6 a.m. and ending between 4 and 6 p.m. (end time is variable and will be determined each day based on volume and need). During peak season (generally October-December), overtime will be required as needed to meet production needs. Some weekend work also required. Successful candidates MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OVERTIME AND WEEKENDS.

The position requires an employee to perform essential functions of the job, including but not limited to the following duties:

  • Operate large industrial dishwashing equipment.
  • Hand wash small wares, machine parts, and other items in three-hole sink.
  • Wash/rinse/sanitize equipment, related parts, trays, pans, small wares, & other dishes in a timely manner.
  • Return all clean equipment and dishes to proper storage area and maintain organization and sanitation.
  • Work with the Baking Supervisor to prioritize each day’s tasks and meet each day’s goals.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines and hygiene practices.
  • Participate in equipment and area cleaning in a safe and timely manner.
  • Participate in training programs.
  • Safely use and dispose of cleaning agents and chemicals.

The position requires that an employee be capable of the following:

  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed (see schedule description above).
  • Must be able to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Must work closely with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, reach, carry, lift, pull, push, stoop, squat, bend, stretch as needed throughout shift.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand instructions, warnings, labels and postings in English effectively.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks at a fast pace in a standing position for the entire shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work in a constantly wet environment.
