Production Associate 1st Shift (SEASONAL)
About Us Tennessee Cheesecake is a family-owned frozen dessert manufacturer located in Lebanon, TN. We make high-quality desserts for the foodservice and restaurant industry. We are looking to add members to our production team who will thrive in a small-business, team-oriented culture. No experience is required, but experience in food production or similar manufacturing is a plus. These are full-time positions that will require a flexible work schedule, including overtime. Reporting to the Line Supervisor, the Production Associate is responsible for all operations, set ups, adjustments on his/her equipment, and general labor on the production line. Duties include, but are not limited to: Operating process machinery and equipment; portioning ingredients; cleaning and sanitation; effective and respectful communication with team members and Line Supervisor. This is a fast-paced food production environment with hourly and daily goals that must be met.
SCHEDULE This is a first-shift position, starting at 6 a.m. and ending around 4 p.m. (end time is variable and is determined each day based on volume and need).
The position requires an employee to perform essential functions of the job, including but not limited to the following duties:
Prep trays and pans, scale crust, portion ingredients, move racks of product, remove product from pans, make boxes, pack product into boxes, tape cases, stack cases.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (food safety) guidelines and hygiene practices.
Operate the production and packaging equipment in a safe and timely manner (our process is primarily manual with machine-assistance).
Inspect product at all stages to ensure customer requirements are met.
Participate in equipment and area cleaning in a safe and timely manner.
Locate and retrieve raw materials and packaging.
Participate in operator-based machine maintenance and care.
Participate in training programs.
Safely use and dispose of cleaning agents and chemicals.
The position requires that an employee be capable of the following:
Ability to work Monday through Friday and overtime.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Must work closely with others in a team atmosphere.
Must be able to stand, walk, climb, reach, lift, carry, pull, push, stoop, squat, bend and stretch as needed throughout the shift.
Must be able to read, write, and understand instructions, warnings, labels and postings in English effectively.
Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks at a fast pace in a standing position for the entire shift.
Starting at $12/hour
Eligible each pay period for $1/hour bonus (regular time only)
